Workshops

Yoga for Cyclists - The practice of yoga and the sport of cycling is a natural marriage. Join us for this four hour workshop as we breakdown the dynamics of a pedal stroke from a kinesthetic perspective, experience a Master yoga class designed specifically  to lengthen and strengthen the prime movers and stabilizers used in cycling, and discover how mindful breathing translates into more effective cycling. No prior yoga experience is necessary for this workshop. The cost is $75 for the session and a manual with the class sequence and photos for the stretches is available for $15.

YogaLean - This workshop enables us to explore and develop an understanding of our personal relationship with food, our body, and the external world. This is not a diet or regimented weight-loss program, rather a way to develop a mindful means to examine how we use food in our lives. We will cover a different limb of YogaLean over the course of the session. There will be weekly journal assignments that are drawn, in part, from S. Alber’s “Eating Mindfully” and D. Adele’s “Yamas and Niyamas” as discussion topics. Each 2 hour class will provide information sharing with time for discussion, journal sharing, and a yoga practice. The 8-week program is offered for $175. Namaste!

YogaLean 2 - This workshop will develop a deeper understanding of our personal relationships with our bodies and the external world as viewed through the lens of our cakra system. Each  YogaLean limb can be loosely associated with a cakra center with the uppermost limb, Yamas and Niyamas, spanning the whole system. We begin this journey at the Root cakra, understanding that cakra and using balancing techniques and meditation, to reveal our connection to that limb as well as the cakra center itself. Our weekly journal assignments will delve deeper into S. Alber’s “Eating Mindfully” and D. Adele’s “Yamas and Niyamas” as well as our own meditation practice. Each 2 hour class is centered on information sharing with time for discussion, journal sharing, and a yoga practice. The 8-week program is offered for $175. Namaste!

Chakra Yoga- This workshop provides an introduction to the ancient physical and philosophical practice of yoga, a practical system that can help us manage stress and improve our overall wellness in a high-paced world. Our journey will be a guided tour through the subtle energy system comprised of the seven Chakras: each week we will use a yoga practice to explore the qualities of a new center as it applies to our life, beginning at the Root cakra and advancing through to the Crown chakra. We will touch on various means of balancing the cakras, including mantras, yantras, essential oils and stones as well as vinyasas that are aligned with that Chakra. Each 90-minute session will include some pranayama (mindful breathing) and meditation time to reflect on our chakra system.
